Who are all these good looking people?

Here’s a picture of Adult Learning students and volunteer tutors taken at the Adult Learners’ Week Awards Ceremony in May. They all received certificates for their achievements this year. Well done everyone! You’ll see that they reduced me (Linda) to my knees … they must be making me work too hard! What's going on? Summer’s a time for growth, and here we are, blossoming out in all sorts of new directions. I’m pleased to say we have three new literacies projects starting soon. Ayr College is providing literacies tuition for students just beginning in catering and construction training. This will start at the end of August. Meanwhile, Ayrshire Initiatives are continuing to support their tenants by offering them free literacies tuition to help them with all the paperwork they need to deal with when they have their own homes. Access to Employment Ayr will also be giving literacies help to their clients – this time to help them into employment. We’re really glad to have these projects up and running in South Ayrshire this year. Projects that are continuing are Ayr Stroke Club, Enable, Headway, and Microcom. There are more projects in the pipeline, and I’ll tell you about them next time round! (Linda)
