Adult Learning is the name for South Ayrshire Council’s adult literacy service. It is a branch of Community Education.

We offer tuition to adults in reading, writing, counting and basic IT, free of charge. Tuition takes the form of 1:1 pairings, small informal groups and drop-ins. We are happy to take referrals from agencies throughout South Ayrshire.

We also offer tutor training for volunteers and spotter training for those working with the public.

Since 2001, we have worked in partnership to provide support with literacy projects, funded under the Scottish Executive’s Adult Literacy and Numeracy Action Plan.
